Lakou House In Session is a curated underground music experience bringing together the ancestral sound of Haiti.
NativRoots Collective x Mominette Present: Lakou House In-Session
Lakou House In-Session unfolds as a musical experience rooted in intention, rhythm, and cultural memory.
This is not just a night out. It is the beginning of a sound.
Lakou House is not a genre, but the naming of a new sonic movement. Rooted in Haitian percussion, rara textures, and spiritual ambiance, it reimagines these elements through modern Afro-electronic energy. You are not entering a genre. You are witnessing the formation of a sub-identity within one.
Built with precision, this in-session is meant to be remembered as a cultural moment. Not just an event, but the foundation of something emerging.
Featuring: 2Cent + Friends
Haitian musician, DJ, and producer 2Cent blends horns, drums, and Vodou-inspired elements into an immersive house music experience that is both ancestral and forward-moving. 2Cent will be joined by Davidor, Haitian DJ/producer bringing vibes rooted in the sounds of Haiti and beyond. Also joining us is Okai, percussionist, MC, and producer, bringing live drumming to turn the energy all the way up.

Hosted at Mominette, a space where Haiti, Bushwick, New Orleans, and the South of France converge — Mominette Bistro is a purveyor of fine French cuisine and handcrafted cocktails, served in a casual, warm setting that creates the perfect atmosphere for this intimate musical gathering.
